Temporary residence card for foreigners

– Foreigners who are members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations under the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations in Vietnam and their spouses, children under 18 years of age, maids accompanied by tenure;        

– Foreigners who enter with visas with symbols LV1, LV2, LS, DT1, DT2, DT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LD1, LD2, TT        

b.1. Dossier of application for temporary residence card for foreigners with work permit in Vietnam

– Certificate of operation of the enterprise employing foreign workers (Enterprise registration certìicate, investment license, operation license of representative office, branch… Depending on the enterprise and the type of business, there will be different types of documents);        

– A certified copy of the foreign worker’s work permit or work permit exemption;        

– Register the first seal and signature sample at the Immigration office (Form NA16);        

– Official letter and application for temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA6);        

– The application form for temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA8);        

– A letter of introduction for Vietnamese employees to apply for a temporary residence card at the Immigration Agency;        

– Original passport (Note that the passport has a visa for the right purpose of work, in case the foreign worker has been granted a temporary residence card before, it is required to include the temporary residence card in use);        

– A certificate of temporary residence registration or a foreigner’s temporary residence registration book certified by the police of the ward or commune where the foreigner is temporarily residing in Vietnam (if any) (can be registered online on Immigration page)        

– 02 personal photos with size 2cm x 3cm.        

b.2. Dossier to apply for a temporary residence card for a foreigner married to a Vietnamese

– A notarized copy of the certificate of marriage registration in Vietnam or a copy of the consular legalization of the marriage note in Vietnam for the case of marriage registration abroad;        

– Application for guarantee and issuance of temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA7);        

– The application form for temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA8);        

– Original passport and visa (passport valid for at least 13 months and visa to enter Vietnam for the right purpose);        

– 02 personal photos with size 2cm x 3cm;        

– A notarized copy of the Vietnamese household registration book of the spouse who is Vietnamese;        

– Notarized copy of ID card of spouse who is Vietnamese;        

b.3. Dossier of application for temporary residence card for foreigners who are investors in Vietnam

– Certified copy of enterprise registration certificate, investment licenses which show clear details and the capital contribution of foreign investors;        

– Register the first seal and signature sample at the Immigration Agency (Form NA16);        

– Official letter and application for temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA6);        

– The application form for temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA8);        

– A letter of introduction for Vietnamese employees to apply for a temporary residence card at the Immigration Agency;        

– Original passport and visa (passport valid for at least 13 months and visa to enter Vietnam for the right purpose);        

– A certificate of temporary residence registration or a foreigner’s temporary residence registration book certified by the police of the ward or commune where the foreigner is temporarily residing in Vietnam;        

– 02 personal photos with size 2cm x 3cm.        

– The duration of the issued temporary residence card is at least 30 days shorter than the remaining validity of the passport;        

– Temporary residence card with symbol ĐT1 is valid for not more than 10 years;        

– Temporary residence cards with symbols NG3, LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT2 and DH are valid for no more than 5 years;        

– Temporary residence cards with symbols NN1, NN2, ĐT3, TT are valid for no more than 03 years;        

– Temporary residence cards with symbols LD1, LD2 and PV1 are valid for no more than 02 years;        

– Expired temporary residence card will be considered for a new card.
